The Artist

Michelle DaRin

Bohemian. Bold. Edgy. Eclectic.

Michelle DaRin Jewelry is best described as bohemian, bold, edgy, and eclectic. Her designs are inspired by her love of color and nature, using a variety of materials including forged and enameled copper, cast silver, resin, bronze, feathers, leather, and gemstones.

Michelle holds a B.A. in Sculpture and an M.F.A. in Metalsmithing from Syracuse University. This combination of sculpture and metalsmithing, merged with her experience in fashion, has allowed her to create a unique and extraordinary brand.

The Story

Her mother taught her how to sew at age 9 — that year she started her first business hand painting baby clothing. She now incorporates her metal and sewing skills, combining upcycled textiles, leather, and metal to create one-of-a-kind clothing and handbags to accent her jewelry designs.

A year and a half ago, the clothing brand Free People started carrying Michelle's jewelry, and now several of her designs are top rated on their site. This is a dream come true for Michelle, who has been a huge fan of the trifecta-owned URBN brand — Anthropologie, Free People, and Urban Outfitters.

For over a decade, out of necessity, she created art and jewelry out of a vintage 1964 iconic Airstream trailer. Michelle's one-of-a-kind jewelry, fashion, and art brand has grown — and so has her space.

The Studio

She currently works out of a post-and-beam constructed studio nestled on her bucolic property within earshot of a babbling brook. It is a place where inspiration comes easily and Michelle's three dogs are her constant companions, usually curled up nearby or exploring just outside while she works.

Surrounded by the sounds and rhythms of the outdoors, this studio has become more than just a workspace. It is a sanctuary for creativity, connection, and the simple joys of making.
